SHOCKER: Deputy Governor Shaibu is impeached by Edo Assembly
The Deputy Governor got his impeachment on Monday. This happens after taking in the conclusions from a seven-member committee that were tasked with investigating series of wrongdoing allegations against him.
Hold your horses! Philip Shaibu, Edo State’s second in command; has been booted out, by the state’s House of Assembly.
The allegations? Leaking out state government’s top-secret matters and lying under oath. The Assembly have called Shaibu out on doing these impeachable misdeeds.
The pot is stewing! Godwin Obaseki the big cheese who is the Governor of the state, and the Deputy Governor, have been having a long enduring squabble; what is playing out right now is always expected!
Last Wednesday, the Edo Assembly deemed it fit to air out the dirty laundry at the fresh seating of the seven-man commission that was, tasked to probe into the doings of the Deputy, by none other than, Justice Daniel Okungbowa, the Chief Judge of the State.
