Obaseki Taps 37-Year old Omobayo As New Edo Deputy Shortly Following, Shaibu's Impeachment, Swearing-in Positioned For Today
Shortly after the Edo State House of Assembly impeaching the state deputy governor Philip Shaibu: the state Governor, Godwin Obaseki has selected his replacement. Obaseki selecting 37-old-year Omobayo Godwin as his newest deputy.
A video published by Channels Television on X suggests, actually, that Omobayo's inauguration were in fact intended to be happening on Monday at the State Government House in the Benin City.
The video shows that guests were seated while some were merely approaching for the swearing-in ceremony.
The State Assembly had convicted Shaibu of leaking the state government's classified secrets and committing perjury, the Shaibu's alleged crimes were impeachable in their words. This comes amid a continued conflict between the Obasike Governor and Shaibu.
Quaintly, the Assembly presented the allegation last Wednesday, their case at the inaugural meeting of the seven-person panel established by the Chief Judge of the state, Justice Daniel Okungbowa, in order to probe the deputy governor.
