President Bola Tinubu has reaffirmed his commitment to enhancing the welfare and working conditions of Nigerian workers, emphasizing the importance of equipping them with the necessary tools for success.

This commitment was conveyed in a statement released on Wednesday by his spokesman, Chief Ajuri Ngelale, highlighting the administration's focus on improving living and working conditions for all Nigerians of working age.

In his message titled 'President Tinubu Salutes Nigerian Workers on May Day,' he acknowledged that the custodians of the nation's machinery deserve fair wages and better welfare. President Tinubu expressed his gratitude towards the workers for their dedication to the nation's progress and development, which is reflected in their tireless efforts and patriotic zeal.

The statement detailed the diverse roles of Nigerian workers, from clerical officers managing office correspondence to security officers who ensure safety, teachers who educate future generations, doctors saving lives, and all others who contribute tirelessly to the nation’s well-being.

President Tinubu also highlighted ongoing efforts within his administration to support workers, including relief programs, a forthcoming wage award, and a review of the minimum wage. He stressed that these custodians of the nation’s progress are not only deserving of rewards but are entitled to wages that are both fair and reflective of their essential contributions to society.
