In a devastating incident that unfolded in Hainault, a large suburban area in northeast London, a 14-year-old boy was tragically killed. The Metropolitan Police have identified the victim as Daniel Anjorin, whose family is now receiving support from specialist officers as they grapple with their immense loss.

The attack occurred early on a Tuesday and involved multiple crime scenes, prompting an extensive police response and investigation. Authorities were first alerted just before 7:00 am when a man reportedly crashed a van into a residential fence in Laing Close and proceeded to attack several individuals.

The sequence of events escalated quickly as the suspect, after crashing the van, attacked a 33-year-old man at the crash site, inflicting a severe wound to his neck. He then entered a nearby home, where he injured a 35-year-old man with cuts to his arm. The violence culminated in the fatal attack on young Daniel Anjorin, leading to widespread shock and mourning throughout the community.

Detective Chief Inspector Larry Smith, who is leading the investigation, described the ordeal as "incredibly tragic" and noted the profound impact on the victim's family and the community. He urged the public to respect the family's need for privacy during this extraordinarily difficult time.

Metropolitan Police Commissioner Sir Mark Rowley spoke on LBC, expressing deep sympathy for the victim's family and highlighting the bravery of the officers involved. "It is not a glib phrase when we say they run towards danger," Rowley remarked, praising the officers' instinctual drive to protect the public and noting the daily risks they face, with an average of nineteen officers injured per day in London.
