Leverkusen etched their name into the annals of history by steamrolling over Werder Bremen with a 5-0 victory, clinching their first Bundesliga championship ever.

This monumental victory brings to an end the 11-year dominion of Bayern Munich over the league.

Leverkusen commenced the match with palpable nervousness but soon took the reins, thanks to a penalty won by Jonas Hofmann following Julian Malatini's foul.

Victor Boniface, in his premier appearance since January, calmly executed the penalty, propelling Leverkusen into the lead.

Bremen managed a few tentative attempts, yet Leverkusen's defense stood firm. Amine Adli was nearly rewarded; however, his shot hit the crossbar, narrowly missing the chance to widen the gap.

Closing the game, Wirtz secured his hat-trick with the game's final action, immortalizing a night Leverkusen fans will cherish.
