Leverkusen etched their name into the annals of history by steamrolling over Werder Bremen with a 5-0 victory, clinching their first Bundesliga championship ever.

This monumental victory brings to an end the 11-year dominion of Bayern Munich over the league.

Leverkusen commenced the match with palpable nervousness but soon took the reins, thanks to a penalty won by Jonas Hofmann following Julian Malatini's foul.

Victor Boniface, in his premier appearance since January, calmly executed the penalty, propelling Leverkusen into the lead.

Bremen managed a few tentative attempts, yet Leverkusen's defense stood firm. Amine Adli was nearly rewarded; however, his shot hit the crossbar, narrowly missing the chance to widen the gap.

The introduction of Florian Wirtz in the second half allowed Leverkusen to showcase their flair, significantly with Granit Xhaka's breathtaking long-distance goal that escalated their lead. "Wirtz subsequently took center stage with an impressive individual goal, boosting the score to 3-0.
